Employee Training
Each new employee must go through a new hire orientation and post offer screening process.
On an annual basis, each employee goes through various trainings and certifications to ensure knowledge of tools and equipment of the trade and ensure they are trained and aware of the safe operation and safety features of each.
Each employee is required to a end weekly safety meetings and encouraged to go through our OSHA and MSHA certification classes.
Employee Credentials
More than half of all field employees hold at a minimum an MSHA miner certification that requires an 8 hour annual safety refresher course, and OSHA 10 hour cards. Supervisors hold OSHA 30 hour cards.
Continuous Improvement
On a monthly basis, a safety committee consisting of managers and field supervisors meet to review the previous month and to make any needed improvements on our safety policy.
Annually, we conduct a company-wide review of our safety policy to remind each employee of its content, highlighting important procedures such as Lockout-Tagout. This review also emphasizes the reasons for our safety policy and how it applies to the work environment, so that we can continue to provide a safe work site for all of our team members.
